Michael brings over 25 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience across biologics, cell therapy, and commercial cGMP operations, including site leadership positions in both Quality and Manufacturing. This dual perspective—rare in the industry—revealed how execution friction compounds when ownership and governance blur between these critical functions.

After leading operational start-ups, scale-ups, and PPQ execution at Bristol Myers Squibb (Juno Therapeutics) and other major biologics manufacturers, Michael founded GMPKit in 2023 to address a persistent challenge: sites struggling with execution friction don't need more advice—they need structured implementation that restores ownership, readiness, and governance discipline. His mission is to help manufacturing leaders turn operational instability into predictable performance using COPQ as the unifying lens.

Paul Van Buskirk

Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer

Paul brings over 24 years of experience spanning information technology, automation, operational technology (OT), digital transformation, and regulated manufacturing. At Genentech, he led automation systems (OT) operations supporting research, manufacturing, and distribution, with responsibility for system reliability, inspection readiness, and business continuity. Throughout his career, he has specialized in strengthening fragile operating environments by building sustainable systems of ownership, governance, and execution.

After seeing the same operational challenges repeat across regulated manufacturing, Paul co-founded GMPKit to help life sciences manufacturers build reliable operational execution. His work focuses on strengthening governance, digital enablement, and operating models that continue to perform under regulatory scrutiny, business continuity challenges, and real-world operational demands.
